Top 10 Best Digital Camera Brands
The Top Ten
Canon I've used them professionally since the beginning of DSLR's with utmost reliability, and quality. A huge fan of the 5D series since day one. I currently rely on the them for most of my work. The lens line-up is also second to none! My favorite, the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II makes about 70% of my shots. It's taken thousands, and thousands of pictures since its 2010 debut, without fail! Reliability is so crucial for professional use. Also, the service department, mainly using CPS, in the best there is! Always looking forward to Canon's next product announcements! I have canon 1100d and nikon d5300. Canon even its entry starting model it takes really amazing shots. Nikon d5300 with out an olps is one of the best camera in the market right now in that range. So I have to be honest and its based on the truth because I have been also checking sony, fuji and other also but still canon and and nikon looks far better. I don't even think its fare to compare DSLR model of canon nikon with sony. olympus and pentex I found better then sony and fuji. I am a mainly a bird photographer and I have owned different Canon DSLR camera models over the last 5 years. I have never been disappointed by any of them. Currently I own a 5D Mark III and a 7D Mark I. Both cameras delivers very good image quality, the strong points being, top performance focusing system, good high ISO performance, very reliable and strongly built. Can't go wrong with Canon. They offer the best bundles with their camera. You can get a DSLR for the same price as a Nikon or Sony, PLUS accessories like camera bags, additional SD cards, lenses, and stands. I've had an EOS Rebel for 3 years now. If I ever get enough money to upgrade to one of the other models I will. But if not, I'm very happy with my Rebel
Nikon Being a professional photographer I have used all sorts of camera's from many brands. But if I had to choose just one brand it would be Nikon for their ease of use, great quality and durability, and amount of features you get for the value. They are almost always leading the way in terms of optical zoom and megapixels, and cost a fraction of the cost of competitors.
For a personal camera, I use Nikon as well and have for over twenty years. They are a fantastic brand and have so many options at all price ranges. From great point and shoots to fantastic super-zoom compacts like the A900, to the magnificent DSLR's, Nikon has a camera for everyone at an amazing price, which class leading features. Hey I got one for Christmas last year. It's a coolpix the photos that I have taken are good. Before somebody took it I had a Sony. Just a small little pink camera that my husband bought me in 2009 for Valentine's Day that was a great camera. Nikon I'm learning I love the cousin who thought enough to get me one the only downside to this one so far is it uses double A batteries. My Sony had a nice rechargeable battery. Nikon is a good camera so I think the rating is ok. Just needs to come with a charger and battery. As far as the image quality stored in a sensor, I think Nikon is better than the rest. Weather Shield in Pentax is unmatched and its medium format gives it lead, Canon handles videos better than others and its compacts are also brilliant. Sony, Panasonic and Samsung think out of the box. Olympus is rugged and aggressive in introducing new technologies. Lieca is the limited edition. Nikon All the way! They may be more expensive but their better than those Sony cameras. Sony cameras are crummy and take horrible pictures, however they get a great and almost perfect wrap up in the end when they take pictures like crap! I Dislike Sony, the only good thing to come out of Sony was when the PlayStation 2 came out about 12 years ago! Pheew.
Sony Sony Corporation, commonly referred to as Sony, is a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation headquartered in Kōnan Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Transformed the face of photography by bringing full frame mirrorless to the forefront. They have taken up the mantel of Contax cameras as being the only cameras to feature autofocus Zeiss lenses. Sony puts the best lenses on the best sensors period. Instruments for professionals. Like Leica's M, or Nikon's F, Sony's A7 series is the new icon of photography. Compact size and best quality. Though Canon is currently leading a market but Nikon has already starting losing the game. Just wait and watch, Sony will be on the top and it has started with the launch of ILCE-9, father of all cameras Recently I have bought a Sony Nex-5 camera. It's a fantastic camera and performance is great. Picture quality excellent even in extreme low light condition. Any one can rely on Sony. Sony Alpha a7 series are awesome... I'll get it... I have used canon and Nikon but picture quality and sharpness is much better in sony as compare to canon and Nikon.

3. Nikon
Olympus I have owned a number of brands of cameras and the most I have used quite a lot is Samsung. I recently bought an Olympus SP-720UZ it was not expensive for a student and it is just a lovely piece and, full HD take good quality pictures in the darkness with flash! Looking forward to get a more advanced version this piece! Olympus has some amazing technology; in the coming years we can expect to find Olympus affecting best-in-class digital cameras; particularly in the evolving mirrorless systems. I'm a proud owner on the OM-D E-M5, and absolutely love it! Best camera I've owned; among all my DSLR collection. I love this camera! Honestly the best one I have ever owned. Perfect for taking self pictures along with far away shots. 26x zoom is amazing. Fantastic Camera brand - interchangeable compact cameras are the best. The movable screens and detachable flashes are so innovative! !
Panasonic When you want to take pictures "Manual" (you decide after you have taken with a lightmeter the measurements of the ISO, the opening of your lens etc...) you take with a Panasonic Lumix the best photos you can get. Plus, the lens is made by Leica which is one of the best (if not, the best) in the world. I have tried several other brands, but nothing can compare with Panasonic. If you want a good "non-professional" camera, choose Panasonic because photos are very close in quality to professional cameras. I have two Lumix cameras and have been amazed at the results I have seen. I use one Point and Shoot for mostly indoor pictures; exhibitions etc. The other larger camera I use for bird and animal photography. I did get some useful advice about initial set-ups which have helped considerably. I love my old Lumix Gf1 that I used for online shopping and the pictures are clear and precise. A customer bought it and I have to buy a latest version. I tried Canon, Fuji and Pentax but nothing compares to Panasonic. Today I bought Lumix Gf3 it's not the latest but it's even far better than my old one... Panasonic cameras are reliable and click awesome pictures.
Modes like 3D picture and panorama increase the quality even more.
Has image editing and many more. In love with the picture quality of the cameras. The camera is truly awesome.
THE BEST... Love It :-D
Casio I have had 2 Exilims. They are quite small. Do an amazing job with detail and color. Flash, people shots are often partly washed out. Maybe it the settings I use.?
Pentax Sure, Nikon and Canon get all the big press, and they are fine cameras without a doubt. But when it came down to selecting my DSLR, nothing could match the value, quality, and features that I was able to get from my Pentax K-50. For instance, Pentax was the only brand in it's price range to have both front and rear dials. And I love the fact that the Image Stabilization is built into the body, meaning that I don't have to look for specific lenses to get that functionality. It's also weather resistant, which wasn't a big selling point at first, but I've grown to love it. All the homework I did paid off...I've never regretted getting my Pentax! Pentax offers fewer options than Nikon and Canon, but the options they have will satisfy 95% of photographers, from beginners to pros. They tend to offer a bit more for the same price, compared with the Nikon, Canon or Sony. The cameras and lenses are sturdy and well built. For my larger than average hands, they feel better too, even though they tend to be a bit smaller and lighter than Canon.
Only down sides to the Pentax system for me are:
1) If using 3 or more multiple flash/strobes, they don't synchronize together easily, Nikon flash system is much better, (I wish Pentax would license this from Nikon, pay a royalty, and let me use Nikon flashes).
2) If you want to buy cheap accessories (lens, flash...) Nikon and Canon have more 3rd party support. (But I like the good quality of Pentax, so I seldom by third party).
3) Less stores carry the full line of Pentax, So you may have to purchase on-line if you want a less common lens or accessory.
I've owned Canon, There's no other brand better than Pentax when it comes to experience, Price and quality, all in one place. Canon and Nikon cost you hundreds of bucks more just for the brand name, The weather sealing on Pentax's entry level DSLR's is even better that of Canon 1D-X and Nikon D4. Pentax won't dodge you by clever marketing tricks. Very reliable camera brand. Others are good too, but Pentax is just in a class of it's own. I have a Pentax K-30 and I'm impressed with the awesome quality! Pentax is great for photographer beginners. I'm using the 18-135 mm lens and it's autofocus is fantastic! Pentax is great for traveling and I definitely recommend this camera for beginners. I'm a beginner myself and it is so easy to use! Pentax RAwwKS!
Samsung Samsung is a South Korean multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul. Its primary products are apparel, chemicals, consumer electronics, electronic components, medical equipment, semiconductors, ships, telecommunications equipment. I have an NX100 and NX1000, LOVE them. They are the best cameras I have ever owned in my life, digital or film. Easy to use, great ways of adapting for a situation in shooting-found there is no all in one digital camera. Also has best response when I push the button of other camera brands I have seen and owned. I had a Nikon D40x. It was good, but, really picky. The focus is actually better with the NX100 than the D40X. Samsung has its good and bad items. I also own a WB50F, quite possibly one of the worst cameras I have ever owned. If I am just going out for a basic day shooting on the nature trail, I prefer my Polaroid 1036 to my WB50F. Samsung is the most qualified brand for cameras with reasonable price and with highest technical features unlike other brands. I still have an old Samsung camera (bought around 2011). It might work if there were batteries and an SD in it. The camera was good (probably crappy when compared to cameras these days) Samsung is very convenient and photo transferring can be done very easily. Samsung is also affordable and has a reasonable price
Lumix The camera I used to use to film videos is a Lumix.
Kodak 10 I have seen some really great picture and video quality from the Kodak brand. For their price, they deliver very good imaging and video quality. Although the company has gone bankrupt, there is a few good models around. Their problem is that they do not promote their products well, but they should not be underrated. I have this Kodak digicam. It's cool and it's to download because it has this share button directly connected to the internet. I think Kodak is the best when it comes to cameras, it has been proven through the years! Photography is their traditional buissness. so, they purely concentrate on camera's. As compared to SONY, the sony camera's are get you very very sharp pictures. but, Kodak on otherhand gives you the real picture.
Go for KODAK... I remember their cool underwater camera model.
The Contenders
Leica 11 Come on! This is ranked way too low. It's common knowledge that Leica makes the best lenses ( look at every test in magazines ). It's not cheap ( you really pay for the quality here and not just for the name of the brand like most people think ) but once you own one you will see for sure a difference comparing to other cameras. It's only flaw is like I said before it's price ( especially the lenses ). If you are a serious artist in photography you will get the most out of this camera. A professional will maybe look for a cheaper quality brand ( if he just doing publicity photography for instance ). The Germans lead the way and Leica was founded in 1914. The lenses were used by the German Luftwaffe to take reconnaissance photographs. Even a pair of field binoculars were if obtained a premium item and wildly adored. Leica and Carl Zeiss are the best number 1&2 camera makes. The best quality lenses going to even own a Leica puts you in the best of prestigious.
I have the Leica C type 12 red and as far as I am concerned I put it in the top 10. Agree, Leica is ranked far too low whitin this list.
Ok, Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax.. sells more to "common people" and also to good prices and quality, but as it comes to high quality/build -well...
Polaroid 12 They released a few I-Zone instant pocket cameras including those that are licensed (Barbie, Girl Tech and American Girl). I got one and it broke almost instantly. Love it stay classic
RED 13
Ricoh 14 I have a RICOH WG-20 (a weather proof model) at 14MP the pictures are fantastic. the model is easy to use, (didn't need a manual) I can trust it's ruggedness it is well built with features that are easy to see and use. I was lucky I found this jem and I mean that for real I actually found it in the trash. I can't believe the good luck it has been. I take photos for the automotive detailing that I do. The before and after pictures I can count on to be constant in the photo the camra get the job done with accuracy. Best camera ever!
Nokia 15
SJCAM 16 One of the best action cam brands. Sharp image, cheap price and good color quality
Fujifilm 17 Bought a reasonably priced Fujifilm Finepix Camera a while back. Amazingly easy to operate and user friendly. No digging through menus and fully manual with RAW capability. It has been all over the world with me. After dropping it on a marble museum floor, craggy rocks, being water logged in a severe downpour and living through Niagra Falls, the camera keeps on snapping photos. Although it is old and outdated now, it still takes amazing photos and nothing comes close to the super macros it's capable of. Less known to today's generation of digital kids. There was a time when we had film. Kodak was the most advertised brand and every factory had different quality or color saturation. Then came Fuji. Did not look as oversaturated, just natural but consistent quality. Today mirrorless top of range cameras Fuji is right on to of the others. Remember if light is low you need lots of glass, so your lens is the window of your camera. The rest comes down to perception. Its just amazing. It has great features and it is in the 'affordable' price range. Great for those who like good photography, but for a reasonable price, or those just beginning in photography. I recommend FujiFilm FinePix S1800. XT2 is a revolutionary Camera. Not only does it shoot 4k, but it's the fastest focusing Mirrorless out there. It is probably the only Mirrorless that can hang with DSLR's for action and sports. Fuji may only be appreciated by hipsters but its time professionals took notice!
Apple Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. 18 Using my phone as my camera makes taking pictures videos and a lot more. It's great, you don't miss out and so many great opportunities to grab that amazing shot -I don't have to lug my canon with me every where. It has decent zoom that I use often.
Mine is a iPhone 10 so I can't speak to the iPhone 12,I do know that it has lenses that my phone doesn't. I will upgrade and am looking forward to seeing what it can do.
Oh, my camera shots in 4K be it a nature pic, videoing, portrait mode, time lapse ect.
It's easy, has some nice features. Is something that most people carry around, easy access, light weight, and a great camera ect especially to capture things that you wouldn't if you have a canon or any bulky cameras ( that's not practical or even okay to bring to certain places). Point shoot and if you want edit right on your phone ( the also have some really great professional editing apps)
This is a "camera" with some nice features, takes decent pictures, simple to use,
